About Jacqui Albin

I’m Jacqui Albin, a chaotically creative LARP designer who loves to blur the lines between satire, social commentary, and immersive art. I’ve been LARPing since 2022, and dove right into writing and running LARPs in 2023, after years of running virtual and in-person tabletop games. I revel in the absurdity of everyday (or not-so-everyday) situations and love finding inspiration in the magically mundane. I’m learning to play the lyre, have an encyclopedic knowledge of dim sum restaurants in New York City, and enjoy watching old sitcoms with my dog, Miss Wig.

About Nocturnalist Productions

Nocturnalist Productions is a LARP studio based out of New York City, looking to spread our stories far beyond the five boroughs. We’re publishing and producing live-action roleplay games, online roleplay experiences, and other interactive events. We specialize in parlor and theatrical LARP, with an emphasis on collective storytelling, streamlined mechanics, and impactful character and player choices. You may know us for games like Honk! The Horny Clown LARP, This is NOT a Vampire LARP and Day 180 in Polycule Housing.

Our Design Ethos: Experiential LARP

At Nocturnalist Productions, we believe in a philosophy that we call Experiential LARP, which emphasizes the unique experiences your mind and body can undergo through this art form. We focus on what you’re doing, not just saying, curating and creating experiences to push you out of your self and into the mindset of somebody (or something) else. We focus on what you’re thinking, doing, and feeling, all as vectors to drive a story forward, rather than those things being the byproduct of the story you’re in. We embrace the physicality of this art, and believe we can use it to access feelings that are usually beyond our reach.

We believe in fostering human ingenuity. AI is not used in any of our projects. Human-made art for human minds and human bodies is and will always be our goal. We are proud to bring you wonderfully imperfect creations made by actual fleshy people.
